Salvage Job: The Izard House

This neglected farmhouse, located near Copper Hill, VA was recently salvaged by our Black Dog Salvage crew. This home once served as the Graysville Post Office and as a schoolhouse.
Thankfully, they were able to save many of its architectural elements.

A large amount of antique oak & poplar flooring was salvaged.

All de-nailed thanks to Bethany, the latest member of our crew!

Salvage Sisters Koiner & Courtney look on at the massive task of bringing this beautiful bay window into our shop.

Here's what it looked like prior to removal.

Getting this in our shop proved to be a greater challenge than removing it in one piece!

Safe & sound resting in our shop awaiting its next home!
This beautiful staircase was also removed in one piece.

For these and more items from this farmhouse, see our Ebay Store and Facebook page.

Wow, that looks better than our farm house, you tore up the wrong house. :-)

That was my families farm for many, many years, my Grandfather and 4 great uncles grew up in that house. Granddad even installed the indoor plumbing in the 60's! Although I don't have the pleasure of remembering this old house as it was sold when I was little, I know so much love and great times happened there; it holds a huge place in the Heart of the Bower family. So happy that you were able to save it's wonderful details, they deserve a new home that will love them as much as our family did!
